SokoSave has been received warmly by players and well-known puzzle designers. Here are some unsolicited comments.

DWSJanuary 3, 2002

Just tried out the Windows version of SokoSave (I use Windows at work, Mac at home). I am impressed. It is the first Windows version of Sokoban that I have enjoyed playing as much as Scott Lindhurst's Sokoban for Macintosh.

I was particularly impressed with the following:

  1. The mouse implementation was very easy to use. I found several methods which worked. I especially like being able to click on a piece and move it by clicking on it's destination.

  2. The arrows and scroll bar for replaying your movements were also excellent.

These two features put you far ahead of the competition. Congratulation on a great program. I look forward to using it on Macintosh when I get OSX.

Got my Titanium G4 PowerBook this week and have downloaded SokoSave. Great program!

Your version of Sokoban is great! Thanks for putting it out. I like the way it automatically performs obvious moves, the unlimited backspacing and the simple graphics.

One feature I didn't notice at first was the slider bar to select any point in the move history - what a brilliant feature! Especially for someone who solves puzzles by Ziko and Hir :-)

I have downloaded your Sokoban implementation. I like the fact that the program can be used for Sokoban levels as well as for Hexoban levels. It works fine on my Windows system, and it is the only multi-platform Sokoban clone so far.

I've dowloaded and tested SokoSave for Windows. I like the simple and intuitive controls. The layout and texts appears [sic] perfectly in my 1024x768-big-fonts desktop.
